🌍 About Automatic Translation
Our Mission — Ukrainian-Language Content
tseivo.com is a Ukrainian blogging platform created to share unique experiences and knowledge in the Ukrainian language. Every article, every post, and every comment is originally created in Ukrainian — this is our primary language and identity.
Why Did We Add Translation?
We believe that the useful information, experience, and knowledge of Ukrainians deserve to be seen by the whole world. That's why we implemented an automatic translation system to make our content accessible to an international audience.
This Does Not Mean Abandoning the Ukrainian Language
On the contrary! Translation is a tool for spreading Ukrainian-language content. Original texts always remain in Ukrainian, and we always recommend reading the original version.
How Does Automatic Translation Work?
Inspired by Reddit
We adopt best practices from international platforms, particularly Reddit, regarding multilingual content:
- Original is always available — like on Reddit, you can always view the original version of content
- Automatic translation is a supporting tool — translation doesn't replace the original, it just makes it more accessible
- Transparency — we clearly mark that content has been automatically translated
- Choice — users choose whether to read the translation or the original
Translation System
When a moderator approves a post from a user with translation enabled, the system automatically:
- Translates the title and description
- Translates the main text while preserving formatting
- Generates readable URLs based on the translated title
- Saves the translation for quick access
What If Translation Is Missing?
Not all content on the platform is automatically translated. This depends on:
- Author's settings — the author can disable automatic translation for their content
- Moderation — only approved content is translated
- Time — new content may not have been translated yet
If you see Ukrainian content on the English version of the site, it means the translation is not ready yet. We show you the original Ukrainian text as a fallback.
Alternatives
Google Translate
If you need an immediate translation, we provide a link to Google Translate. This allows you to translate the page "on the fly" into your language, although the quality may be lower than our automatic translation.
Switching to the Ukrainian Version
You can always switch to the fully Ukrainian version of the site, where all content is displayed in its original form.
Translation Quality
Automatic Translation Has Limitations
It's important to understand that automatic translation cannot fully replace professional human translation. Inaccuracies are possible, especially:
- In technical terms
- In cultural references
- In wordplay and idioms
- In context requiring deep understanding of the topic
What We're Doing to Improve
We're constantly working to improve translation quality:
- Using modern machine translation technologies
- Preserving HTML formatting to maintain text structure
- Generating readable URLs from translated titles
- Planning to add the ability for users to report translation errors
Supporting Ukrainian-Language Content
Our Philosophy
tseivo.com is a platform for Ukrainians, in Ukrainian, about Ukrainian experience. Translation is just a tool to spread this experience to the world, but will never replace original Ukrainian-language content.
How You Can Help
- Read originals — if you know Ukrainian, always choose the original version
- Share content — spread interesting articles from tseivo.com
- Create content — become an author and share your experience in Ukrainian
- Support the platform — use tseivo.com to find useful information
Questions and Answers
Why does some content remain in Ukrainian?
The author may have disabled automatic translation for their content, or the translation is not ready yet. We always show the original Ukrainian text as a fallback.
Can I request translation of a specific article?
Currently, translation happens automatically after moderator approval. We're working on adding a translation request feature.
Can I fix errors in translation?
This is not currently possible, but we plan to add this feature in the future. If you notice a critical error, please let us know.
Which language is better to read content in?
We always recommend reading the original Ukrainian version if you know the Ukrainian language. The original conveys the author's style, intonations, and cultural context most accurately.
