If you, like me, got to Rome's Fiumicino airport to transfer to another flight, then most likely you need to change the terminal during this transfer. In my case, it was a trip by Wizz Air from the Romanian town of Suceava to Lisbon with a change of plane in Rome.
Arrival was at terminal 1, and departure was from terminal 3. Therefore, the question arose, where is this 3 terminal and do I need to leave the airport in order to get to it? I will say right away that it is not necessary!
Terminals 1 and 3 of Fiumicino Airport are interconnected in the same building. Therefore, when arriving at terminal 1, you do not need to go to the exit (Exit) or to the baggage claim area (provided that you flew without checked baggage, but only with hand luggage). You don't need to leave the airport, but turn left, where you will see the Transit scoreboard and the escalator that will take you to the floor above. That's how you will get to terminal 3.
Since, according to my experience, there are no cognitive signs and signs anywhere in this terminal that it is exactly what it is - the 3rd terminal, then you can get confused and look further where it is:) This is what happened to travelers who flew with me on the same flight from Suceava to Rome, and had a transfer, as it turned out, also to Lisbon. Already in the 3rd terminal, they decided to look for it further and used one of the exits from the transit zone. After that, of course, they had to go through passport and baggage control again to get to the place from which they left.
I used the Internet, found the official website of Fiumicino Airport, namely its https://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en/pax-fco-airport-map map, and made sure that I was where I should be.
I also found a convenient bot on the website, where you can enter your flight and subscribe to updates on it. The messenger contains all the changes and information about your flight, from which gate you depart, at which time the boarding starts and ends. Quite convenient, so I'll leave the link https://www.facebook.com/share/1BEJW1thW7/
It is worth noting that if you have a fairly short connecting time in Fiumicino, then don't worry. The transition from terminal 1 to terminal 3 (and vice versa) and the road to any gate will take no more than 30 minutes at a calm pace and with adjustments for some traffic jams. But again, provided that you fly without checked baggage and you do not need to receive it, and then check in again for the next flight. That is, my experience is liquid for those who do not leave the transit zone.
