There is not much time left until the release of Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad: the game will be released on July 10, and an animated bonus has been prepared for Ultimate Edition owners.

It is about a special anime Unanswered//butterfly, which will be available only to those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition. A fragment of the bonus was shown in a new teaser trailer.

Bandai Namco describes the plot as follows: Emirun and Rex meet again in the virtual world, but they will have to face a deadly game. So far, this is all that has been revealed about the special anime's story.

Echoes of Aincrad will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Steam. Bandai Namco emphasizes that for the first time in the series, the game allows players to create their own hero instead of taking on the roles of already known characters.

The project promises avatar customization, travels through cities, locations, and dungeons, as well as real-time combat. During gameplay, players will be able to upgrade equipment, weapons, stats, and choose special skills to match their play style.
