The official website of the Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported that the anime adaptation of Horror Collector will premiere in October 2026. Along with the announcement, visuals of the main character Fushigi Senno and his partner Jimmy were published.
What is known about Horror Collector
Horror Collector is a joint project of screenwriter and writer Midori Sato and Norio Tsuruta, who is called the "father of J-Horror" for his work on the TV drama Honto ni Atta Kowai Hanashi.
The original series of novels illustrated by Yon has been published by Kadokawa Tsubasa Bunko since June 2015. As of October 2025, it had 27 volumes, and the total circulation worldwide exceeded one million copies.
The title also received a manga adaptation by Niko Yuki, which was published in Kadokawa's magazine Monthly Comic Gene from September 2021 to February 2022. The editions were compiled into one volume.
The official English version of the novel and manga is published by Yen Press, and the plot is described as a story about a boy in a red hood who appears where strange and frightening events occur.
