Pre-registration for Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble has opened worldwide on the App Store and Google Play. Along with this, the developers have launched a community rewards campaign, with the main bonus being an exclusive skin Clank Suit for Widget.
The game was first showcased a few months ago, and before its global release, it was already tested in a soft launch in Canada, Northern countries, France, and Asia. After that, the team continued to refine the project based on player feedback.
What kind of game is this
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is a free multiplayer hero shooter for mobile devices, created by Oh Bibi together with PlayStation Studios and Insomniac Games. In the storyline, Captain Qwark launches a combat simulation to find a new generation of Galactic Rangers. But, as one would expect from Qwark, things can go awry in this arena.
Players will choose heroes, utilize their unique abilities, and shoot explosive weapons in real-time PvP battles. There are also PvE elements — modes or events against artificial intelligence that add more variability to matches.
Heroes, modes, and the series' signature style
At launch, the game will feature 12 heroes, with promises to add more later. Among them are both familiar faces and completely new characters that have not appeared in the series before: robots, aliens, and new lombaxes. Each has their own playstyle, design, and set of cosmetic items.
There will also be six modes in the game. Among them are team PvP battles, wave encounters with enemies in PvE, a mode hinting at battle royale, and a football format where goals are accompanied by additional firepower. The developers emphasize that this is indeed football, not soccer.
The team also highlights that they aimed to preserve the spirit of the original series: humor, familiar characters, and the quirky weapons that Ratchet & Clank have been known for over 20 years. The soundtrack was inspired by the music of the early parts to convey the recognizable mood of the franchise.
Pre-registration and community rewards
The rewards in the campaign depend on community goals: each pre-registration brings players closer to new bonuses. Among the announced rewards are Qredits, Reebos, and Raritanium, which will provide a starting advantage after launch.
The final reward will be the same Clank Suit for Widget. If the community reaches the final milestone, all players will be able to unlock this skin at the global launch. All bonuses will be credited after the game's release.
