Shakshuka <TAG1> is a traditional dish originally from North Africa. It is an integral part of the cuisines of the countries of the Middle East. It is a vivid example of how simple ingredients can create an incredibly aromatic and tasty dish. After all, in fact, it is nothing more than scrambled eggs with vegetables. The famous Ukrainian cook Yevhen Klopotenko prepares shakshuka even with zucchini, like () Despite all the variations, the main idea remains unchanged: the combination of eggs with a rich vegetable sauce based on tomatoes and sweet pepper.
In our version of shakshuka, we used tomatoes, bell sweet pepper, garlic, zira, chili pepper powder and actually fresh homemade chicken eggs. We cooked in a pan with a thick bottom, under the lid, to preserve the liquid yolks. The finished shakshuka was decorated with dried cilantro, which added even more aromas and flavors. In our humble opinion, this simple but incredibly tasty dish – is an ideal option for breakfast. So let's break down our recipe into small steps ()
