Before the release of The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE: Yotsuba Succession Arc in Japan, LiSA released the main song of the film — "YES" — and simultaneously published the music video on her official YouTube channel.

For the franchise The Irregular at Magic High School, this is already LiSA's third work: she previously performed "Rising Hope", the opening of the first season of the TV anime, and "Shouted Serenade", the opening of the third season.

LiSA wrote the lyrics to "YES" herself. The music was created by Kazunari Takagi, the vocalist of the Japanese rock band Re:name, and the arrangement was done by Ryo Eguchi, who has previously worked with LiSA, including on "Risky" from her ninth single Epty MERMAiD, which was released in September 2015.

The singer herself noted that this is already her third chance to sing for the The Irregular at Magic High School series. She described the song as a work inspired by the story of uncovering the truth about the Yotsuba family, and added that she created the video with the feeling of a flower blooming thanks to the magical word "YES".

The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE: Yotsuba Succession Arc is the second full-length film in the franchise after The Girl Who Summons the Stars in 2017. The film was released in 144 theaters across Japan on May 8, 2026.

The film was directed by Jimmy Stone, who also worked on the third season of the TV anime, and was produced by the studio eightbit. The music is once again handled by Taku Iwasaki. The original light novel was written by Tsutomu Sato and illustrated by Kana Ishida; in Japan, the series is published under the Dengeki Bunko label by ASCII Media Works, and the English version is published by Yen Press.
