Netflix has announced that the anime THE ONE PIECE will be released worldwide in February 2027. On the premiere day, all 7 episodes will be shown at once.
What exactly the new title adapts
The project from WIT STUDIO returns to the very beginning of Eiichiro Oda's saga. The first season will cover the East Blue Saga — up to the meeting with Sanji — and will last approximately 300 minutes, which means it will cover about 50 chapters of the manga.
Along with the announcement, concept art for the first episode was shown: young Luffy stands next to Shanks, and below the image, it says: “The adventure starts here.”
Who is working on the project
THE ONE PIECE was first announced in December 2023 at Jump Festa’24, and details were revealed at ONE PIECE DAY’24 in August 2024. The director is Masashi Koizuka, the assistant director is Hideaki Abe, the series composition is handled by Taku Kishimoto, and character design is done by Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda.
The series will be streamed on Netflix and, according to the platform's description, aims to provide a “fresh yet familiar” experience thanks to modern visual technologies that will showcase Luffy's adventures in the East Blue arc in a new way.
