The anime Takopi's Original Sin, which has managed to find both new and old fans during its short six-episode run, will receive a big-screen version. The project was announced as a compilation film — that is, an anthology film with a reimagined edit of previously shown material.
The film will include re-edited fragments of the original series, as well as new animated scenes. The premiere date for the compilation film has not yet been announced.
What is known about the title
The original manga Takopi's Original Sin was published by Shueisha in the digital magazine Shonen Jump+ from December 2021 to March 2022 and was later compiled in Japan into two volumes. The English version is also published by VIZ Media and MangaPLUS.
The anime adaptation was directed by Shinya Iino at ENISHIYA. He was also responsible for the series composition, while the character design was created by Keita Nagahara. The music for the series was composed by Yoshiaki Fujisawa.
Takopi's Original Sin story: the friendly alien Takopi arrives on Earth with one goal — to bring happiness. When he meets Shizuku, a lonely fourth-grade student, he tries to bring back her smile using his magical Happy Gadgets. But the more Takopi learns about her life, the more he realizes: true happiness cannot always be found through gadgets.
