Bandai Namco showed a new trailer for Echoes of Aincrad, the next game in the Sword Art Online series. This time, the video is dedicated not to the anime with the Ultimate Edition, but to the gameplay mechanics.

The seven-minute video goes into detail about the game's systems and demonstrates how the core gameplay will work.

Echoes of Aincrad offers players the chance to immerse themselves in the world of Sword Art Online, where events unfold around a character created by you. Unlike previous games in the series, this one focuses on the meta-idea of the franchise: the player enters the virtual world and embarks on a dangerous adventure.

The game will feature deep avatar customization, travels through various cities and locations, as well as battles with monsters and bosses. The combat system is a dynamic RPG with real-time battles, where you can upgrade equipment, weapons, stats, and choose special abilities to match your playstyle.

NPC partners will play a significant role, which can be customized. Their abilities and the development of your bond with them will affect success in battle and unlock new, stronger skills.

Echoes of Aincrad will be released on July 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
