Katsuhiro Harada, known as the director and producer of Tekken, announced his next step after leaving Bandai Namco: he has founded a new studio, VS Studio, together with SNK Corporation.

According to SNK, VS Studio will become a subsidiary, and the parties will collaborate on software development. Harada also took on the roles of representative director and CEO.

In the name VS, Harada embedded several meanings: from the roots of the group in the formulation "Video game Soft" to the spirit of "Versus". Among other options he mentioned are "Visionary Standard", "Volition Shift", and "Vanguard Spirit". All of this is united by the idea of innovation and challenge.

In his video address, Harada stated that the studio's philosophy is "Beyond tradition, crafted to perfection". He added that the team wants to combine technology, sensitivity, and global experience to create memorable games.

SNK developer Yasuyuki Oda called Harada's arrival to the group an important event. According to him, they had long discussed the hypothetical possibility of working together, and now this plan has become a reality.

At the same time, Oda clarified that nothing has been decided definitively yet, but SNK expects that things will get even more interesting moving forward. The company asks to stay tuned for news about SNK and VS Studio.
