In the anime adaptation of the manga by Kamome Shirahama Witch Hat Atelier, in the seventh episode, Coco and Agott find themselves at the center of a dangerous incident on a flooded river. After a man named Dagda Olrjio calls for help, Kifri and the other students rush to assist an overturned cart and its passengers.

During the rescue operation, Kifri demonstrates his sword Raincleaver with magical seals on the blade, while Olrjio uses spells for movement and magical rings to assist the victims. Agott, who is not yet allowed to cast spells in front of non-mages, gets frustrated with simple tasks, but is reminded of who magic is really for.

When the sky finally clears, Kustas decides to descend to the shore alone to retrieve lost items, but the soaked ground collapses, and Coco falls down with a tree. At that moment, Agott has to quickly gather herself: she recalls someone else's disapproving words, but after Olrjio's hint about who magic exists for, she begins to save the boy trapped under a rock alongside Coco.

To avoid showing spells to non-mages, Coco uses Olrjio's rings, while Agott distracts people with the illusion of a burning bird. In the end, Coco manages to climb with Kustas to the top of the cliff, where Dagda can finally catch them, and the family is reunited.

After a column of water created by Kifri's sword attracts the attention of the Knights Moralis, Eastis and his subordinates head to the scene. It is then that the white trap ribbon Silverwhite Capture Pennants binds Coco and Agott, and the knights begin to investigate who used forbidden magic.

Coco honestly admits that she cast the spell, but explains that it was not forbidden. However, Eastis notices that the spell meant to destroy the rock went wrong and turned part of the cliff and shore into sand. After this, he declares Coco guilty and prepares to pass sentence — oblivion.
