My P1S is exactly one year old. First malfunction. The batch of legs for the drones was defective. The printer was making strange sounds. Like tapping a pencil on wood.
I turned it off. Started a test print (calibration cat). And immediately it became clear that the plastic was not being extruded properly. So I turned it off and went to Google.
The worst-case scenario (the most expensive) is a problem with the extruder. But in any case, it needs to be disassembled and checked what's going on.
I have long wanted to change the nozzle. So I thought I would change it right away (the spare 0.4 nozzle and thermal paste come with the printer).

I cleaned the cooler. I took the thermistor from the old nozzle.
It seems a bit complicated. But the official documentation shows everything quite well - https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/maintenance/replace-hotend
I also watched a video on YouTube about how to pry the thermistor off the nozzle. Because it is very tightly stuck with thermal paste. Be careful here. You can easily cut the wires.
The thermistor has two elements. A ceramic heater and a sensor. The sensor sits in a small hole and is sealed with thermal paste. In the videos online, they advised heating it with a lighter and pulling it out.
In my case, one of the wires was damaged. So I ordered a new one, and most likely, the problem was in that.
The thermistor was not working properly. The plastic was not melting as it should. And the extruder was spinning the filament and making a knocking sound. The disassembled extruder looks normal.
So I hope that replacing the thermistor will revive my little one.
