On April 19, I published a post about experience printing the first 10kg of military products. Today is August 20 and I just sent another parcel and my filament counter - 50 kg.

Already forgot, but also wrote a short post on June 11 about 25kg printed . Blogging is interesting because you document some things that you can turn to later.
For example, I had a ~3 kg defect on the first 25 kg of printed products. This plastic was sent for recycling (look for contacts in the DA chat). And now, my defective package contains ~1.7kg defective products. That is, almost twice as much. This can be explained by the acquired experience, as well as the fact that some products need a lot and all you need is to run to change the playtas.
About half of the shortage at the moment is not related to the problems of searches, etc. For example, a large batch of products was cut off in half, and the printer "printed by emptiness" when the filament was stuck in the dryer.
But for general statistics:
  • 50 kg printed products for the Printing Army
  • 14 shipping by Nova Poshta
  • ~4.7 kg of defects or round to 10%
  • 12 print quality assessment - Excellent. 2 - Unknown (one is still on the way, and the other was sent back in March and I think that people there are not up to giving grades)
  • 1958 printed products (some consist of 2 or more parts)

And what about money?
  • 55 kg (products + defects) * 300 hryvnias (average price per 1 kg of plastic including home delivery) = UAH 16,500
  • 14 NP shipments * uah 230 (average shipping price) = uah 3220
  • Boxes - I do not take into account, because I use those that are in everyday life (food for animals comes in boxes 40x40x35)
  • Printer maintenance. I will one day count the costs of e/e in a separate post, but this was not reflected much in the general account. Lubricants, varnish and spare parts ~ 3500 hryvnias for all the time (but the lubricant took a large volume and it will be enough for a long time). It is probably worth writing a small but separate post about this.
  • Work and time are priceless ^_^
In total, 50 kg of very useful products for the army went UAH 23,220 expenses). I don't count the printer and dryer itself. It is also appropriate to add the costs of e/e here, but I do not have figures at the moment.
Commercial 3D printing uses a price for 1 gram of the finished product (the price depends on the height of the layer and other specifics). The average commercial price used by other printers to calculate their benefit in monetary terms is UAH 6.
That is, if we went to the office and ordered 50 kg of products at a price of UAH 6 per 1 gram... We would be announced the price in 300,000 uah.
My price for 1 gram of finished product is 0.4644 hryvnias (23220/50000). To keep it easier in my head - I round to 50 kopecks (think will cover the costs of e/e, a roll of tape, etc.).
I summarize. Approximately for 5 months printed and shipped 50 kg products for the military (10 kg per month). Monthly expenses 5000 hryvnias (average).
My P1S printer can print more, but there is not always time and opportunity. Printers organize farms with a continuous work cycle. But printing as much as possible (finance and time) is also very important.
By the way, here is an interesting video about a large Ukrainian 3D farm. I recommend that you definitely watch it if you already have a printer and have printed the first 2-3 kg (then the processes described in the video will be clearer).
Some DA products are transferred to thermo-layer machines, which is a logical step in the evolution of this process. But load and quantity different products for the needs of the army are not reduced. So don't delay and join DA.
