Summer is a time of travel and new experiences. Vacation, business trips, weekends outside the city — frequent companions of the warm season. When planning a trip, a caring hostess immediately thinks about what to eat on the road or take with her on a picnic, to the beach, on a long walk with children. The product should be convenient to transport, portioned, with minimal probability of smearing everything around and tasty. Today we talk about second courses recipes, which can be a snack and a full meal at the same time.

Ossetian pies

Ossetian pies — are delicate dough, appetizing aroma, juicy filling and rich taste. We suggest you use boiled potatoes and canned sardine for the filling. But you can show imagination and choose your own option that you love the most. 
You will need for the dough: 
  • wheat flour of the highest grade — 500 g;
  • dry «Lviv yeast» dry — 8 g;
  • salt — 7 g;
  • sugar — 10 g;
  • milk — 360 ml;
  • butter – 50 g.

Add salt, sugar and butter to warm milk. Mix flour and yeast in a deep bowl, add the liquid mixture to them and mix thoroughly. You will need to knead the elastic dough and let it fit twice within 30 minutes. If necessary, add a little flour so that the mass does not stick to the hands, but does not become too dense. Divide the finished dough into three equal parts.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling — mix 550g of boiled potatoes, 3 cans of canned sardine, 2 fried onions, 1 chicken egg, 10g of butter and spices to taste. Divide the resulting mass into 3 equal parts and form balls from them. 
Make circles with a diameter of 18-20 cm from the dough, put the filling in the middle and cover it with a free edge, pinch tightly in the middle. Now you need to carefully form a cake with a diameter of 25-30 cm. Do not forget to leave a hole in the center so that steam comes out during baking. Send the mold to an oven heated to 220 degrees for 15 minutes. Let the finished pies cool and taste with your favorite sauce or drink. 

Pies with salty fillings

Do you like fried pies? We offer you a recipe for salty yeast dough that will taste with various fillings. Decide for yourself which one to cook with today, or trust your family to choose.
You need to mix dry ingredients:
  • 600 g of wheat flour;
  • 6 g of dry «Lviv yeast»;
  • 40 g of sugar;
  • 10 g of salt.
Prepare a mixture of 200 g of warm milk or water, 90 g of softened butter and 3 chicken eggs separately. Add the resulting mass to the dry ingredients and prepare a soft elastic dough. Divide it into 50-gram balls, cover them with a towel and leave them for 15 minutes in a warm place without drafts. 
Roll out the sticks, put the filling inside (meat, vegetable, fish, cheese, boiled eggs and green onions) and form a pie of your favorite shape of small thickness. Let them rest for 10-15 minutes and send them to a heated pan. Fry in refined oil until golden brown on both sides. When the finished pies cool down, taste them with tea, first courses or sour cream.
Do not forget that yeast dough requires fresh and high-quality ingredients, compliance with the temperature regime and kneading technology. Choose «Lviv yeast» so that all culinary experiments end deliciously!
