How often should a thread filter/mechanical cleaning cartridge be changed?

In a private house, there is one flask with a thread filter at the entrance (immediately after the meter). Water is supplied from the city, but still the use of a filter is necessary. Over the past six months, I have already disassembled faucets several times to clean them of dirt (aerators and faucet cartridges).

For the future, there is an idea to add more filters to improve water quality. But for now, let's talk about a mechanical cleaning cartridge made of polypropylene thread. What does the manufacturer (Ecosoft) tell us? The resource of the polypropylene thread filter (in my case) is 15,000 liters (15 cubic meters). I was a little skeptical about such a number, and I considered it purely marketing, motivating to buy/replace. Suitable for mechanical cleaning from sand, silt, rust, scale.

But after living in a house where dirt from water clogs mixers, shower heads and spoils heating elements, I realized that this should not be neglected. The cost of the filter is up to $3 per piece, and repairs and time are much more expensive.

Regarding drinking water - I use a separate filter (reverse osmosis). By the way, its (I mean all filters) resource will be increased due to the supply of cleaner water to it. So I recommend looking at the meter to understand the water consumption per month. Conditionally, if the water consumption is 7 cubic meters per month, the filter must be changed every two months (provided that the resource is 15 cubic meters).

Tip - buy 2 filters at once so that there is always something to replace.
