Santa Monica Studio revealed the first look at God of War Laufey — the next main game in the God of War series. The plot will center around Faye, also known as Laufey, the wife of Kratos and the mother of Atreus.

After her own funeral, she unexpectedly wakes up in a strange world and realizes that the plans meant to protect Kratos and Atreus are in jeopardy. To save her loved ones, Faye will have to traverse the afterlife of the gods — Everywhen, where fierce deities from various mythologies compete for power.

The developers emphasize that God of War Laufey has all the key features of the series: close and brutal combat, exploration of a vast world, and a story built around characters. Faye is once again portrayed by Deborah Ann Woll, who previously played her in God of War Ragnarök.

Along with her, two companions will join the journey: Phranque, voiced by Jack Quaid, and Rue, voiced by Perlina Lau. The game has also revealed the first details about the combat system, where Faye will focus on speed, mobility, and the use of sword and powers related to her psychic abilities.
