The Blood of Dawnwalker has received new details about the time-based quest system and how player choice works in the game. Events unfold in a world where the Cohen family lives under the pressure of vampire-vrkhiri, and every day in the village of Laslea feels like a struggle for survival.
According to the plot, the Day of Blood arrives in the village: adults must gather for a ritual and give blood to empower Brenkis and his entourage. Cohen has only one day, divided into eight parts from dawn to dusk, to try to find a solution and help his family.
Time only moves when the player chooses an action
While exploring Laslea, various activities can be undertaken: consulting the local herbalist Anka for medicine for his mother, getting into a fight with an uriah, searching for a lost pig or a missing neighbor, helping a weaver, or even stumbling upon the beginning of a rebellion against the vampires.
But all of this cannot be done at once. While Cohen is just walking, observing, and listening, the day does not progress. To advance time to the evening, decisions must be made. This is how the game's pace is built: the choice of actions changes the course of the day.
Cohen crosses the boundary between human and vampire
Not all events can be changed. After night falls, the Day of Blood still occurs, and Cohen wakes up in a silver mine no longer quite human. Brekis transforms him into one of his own — so that he becomes a familiar face capable of destroying friends and neighbors.
After this, the hero gains a new ability: the sun no longer harms him, and along with his vampire power, he retains human feelings and connections. Ahead are 30 days during which his family will be held captive for a sacrifice at Brenkis's coronation. The Blood of Dawnwalker will be released on PlayStation 5 on September 3, 2026.
