Arknights: Endfield will receive support for the updated PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro along with patch Version 1.4. Hypergryph states that the update is expected to make the visuals sharper, more stable, and smoother during the exploration of the game's vast sci-fi world.
On PS5 Pro, the updated PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution will help better convey character details: clothing, materials, and fine textures will look more pronounced. This should be noticeable during battles, in cutscenes, and while freely moving around.
Improvements will also affect the stylized locations of Endfield. Vegetation, industrial complexes, and creatures inhabiting natural areas will maintain image clarity and stability even in dynamic scenes. On PS5 Pro, the game will also be able to maintain a higher frame rate in 4K more stably.
“The integration of the updated PSSR required very little engineering effort while improving image clarity and temporal stability across a wide range of gameplay scenarios. This allows us to showcase the world of Arknights: Endfield with greater visual consistency, maintaining smooth exploration and combat while bringing the rich details of Talos-II to life,” said Hypergryph CTO David Gu.
What else is included in Version 1.4: Companionship Celebration: Homecoming
Version 1.4 will be the largest update to the game since its release. It will add a continuation of the main story in Chapter 3: Acts 1 & 2, new regions Yinglung Pass and North Wuling Exclusion Zone, as well as a new boss Alleikhreos.
The update will also introduce a new operator Arcane, who players have already seen in the story, and a new companion Liino. Arcane is a Nature Caster working with Corrosion and crowd control, while Liino is an Electric Supporter with healing and team buffing skills.
New modes, systems, and rewards
Along with this, the game will feature Echoes of War — a permanent seasonal trial mode with rewards for skillful play, The Rooted Realm — a new roguelike mode with gradually unlocked stages, and Heat Rage! Mega Arena! — a time-limited cooperative challenge for two operators.
Version 1.4 will also expand the AIC Factory with a new gas production chain, add Story Skip for new players, Birthday rewards, Talosite collectibles, and an updated Photo Mode with pose settings. To celebrate the game's half-anniversary, generous in-game bonuses are promised, including a free 6★ weapon Oroberyl, recruitment permits, temporary events, and several login campaigns.
The Arknights: Endfield Version 1.4 update with improved PSSR will be released on July 16.
