The Summer State of Play 2026 was packed: over 60 minutes of announcements, new trailers, and release dates. The show started with a detailed look at Marvel’s Wolverine and concluded with a showcase of God of War Laufey.

Between these two major releases, a whole series of new titles and updates were shown. Some titles have already received specific release dates for the second half of 2026, while several projects are already targeting 2027.

Among the most notable news is Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, which will be released on PS5 on October 2; Control Resonant with a release on September 24; Dune: Awakening, scheduled for September 22; Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, which will appear on October 1; Onimusha: Way of the Sword — September 25; No Rest for the Wicked — in October; Rayman Legends Retold — October 1; Silent Hill Townfall — September 24; Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis — February 12; Until Dawn 2 — next year.

Also showcased were Bancho The Chef, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls with three new characters — Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage, as well as Marvel’s Wolverine with a new look at the combat system and characters. Phantom Blade Zero was separately announced, for which a dedicated State of Play will be held this summer, and Kemuri, which is set to release on PS5 in 2027.

In the PlayStation Plus segment, it was announced that Runescape: Dragonwilds will appear on PS5 as a day one Game Catalog title, meaning it will be available in the subscription catalog from the first day of release. For PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, Gitaroo Man, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams are also being prepared.

Among other titles shown were ILL, Stuntman: Hollywood, The Lost Wild, and Marathon, for which Season 2 has already started. God of War Laufey was separately presented — a new main chapter in the series, where the story centers around Laufey (Faye), Kratos's wife.
