Eco-shampoos: How to find exactly your own?
Modern hair care – is a comprehensive measure that includes stages from thorough washing to aging of nourishing masks for 15 minutes. Do not forget about valuable oils and home care in the form of therapeutic serums, but still it is important to wash your hair and cleanse your scalp. sulfate-free shampoo – is increasingly being seen as a light, safe and really effective hair product. But what is really hidden behind «sulfate-free formulas» and are they really better than the shampoos we are used to?
Shampoos without sulfates - this?
Such eco-means do not contain sulfates: sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). Because they are active components that create foam and help to quickly and effectively remove dirt, sebum, and cosmetic residues. Sulfate shampoos provide «deep» cleansing, but can dry the scalp and hair. As a result: brittleness, loss of shine and even irritation, as well as peeling and unpleasant sensations. While sulfate-free shampoos use alternative, softer surfactants, they clean delicately and no less effectively. Yes, these shampoos create less foam during washing, but at the same time maintain a natural protective layer. Among other advantages, we can highlight:
- Moisturizing and nourishing. Such shampoos contain exclusively natural components: oils, extracts, active complexes, proteins, amino acids and others. Thanks to this, deep moisturizing and saturation of the hair structure is guaranteed. This is especially useful for those with dry, dull or damaged strands.
- Color protection. Sulfate-free shampoo – is the right choice for those who have just after painting or highlighting, lighting. Due to gentle formulas, restoration of the structure and preservation of hair color saturation is guaranteed. In this way, the shade lasts for a long time on the strands, without lighting and quick washing.
- For sensitive skin and weak hair. The gentle, natural formula of eco-shampoo – is an excellent remedy for sensitive scalp prone to allergic reactions and irritations. Lack of aggressive components is the key to the health and beauty of your hair.
- For curls and wavy hair. Sulfate-free shampoos are especially recommended for naughty, fluffy and curly strands. These hair types are prone to dryness and dullness, and eco-shampoos are intensely moisturized, keeping moisture inside the curls.
There are disadvantages, but compared to the advantages and expected result, they are quite insignificant:
- Higher cost. Due to the fact that eco-means have unique, natural components, they have a higher cost than ordinary cleaning products.
- Less foam. Sulfate-free shampoo forms less foam, so it may seem that the cleaning will not be so deep. But you have to get used to it, because this does not reduce the effectiveness of the product.
Use shampoo in combination with other care products (for your hair type), this will make the effectiveness higher and the result quick.
