Recently, our arsenal of kitchen gadgets was replenished with a new devil machine new device – air fryer. Having discovered its capabilities (the speed of cooking dishes with a crispy crust using almost no oil), we are launching a section #Cooking_in_the_Air_Fryer, where we will share our own experiences of cooking dishes using this device. The first dish we prepared was chicken drumsticks in barbecue sauce, but in our excitement, we completely forgot to photograph the entire process (but we will rectify this in the near future). Therefore, for the blog, we decided to make sweet potato fries.
Sweet potato itself is a kind of "sweet potato," although it actually has nothing in common with regular potatoes. Sweet potato is a true superfood, as it is rich in beta-carotene (especially orange varieties), which improves vision and skin condition, fiber, which promotes gut health, as well as B vitamins, C, potassium, iron, and antioxidants. It also has a low glycemic index, making it a good choice for people who are watching their figure or simply counting calories carefully.

We will need:

  • 400 g of sweet potato
  • salt, pepper, dried garlic, sweet paprika to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil.

Cooking

Peel the sweet potato. Cut into equal sticks.

Place in a bowl, add spices, a teaspoon of olive oil, and mix thoroughly.

Place in the air fryer basket, set the temperature to 180 degrees and the time to 16 minutes (although the photo shows 32, we turned off the air fryer exactly when 16 minutes had passed). At these settings, our sweet potato came out slightly overcooked on the outside and a bit soft on the inside.
From our experience, we can say that you can set the temperature to 200 degrees and the time to 12 minutes: then the sweet potato will come out perfectly: with a crispy crust on the outside and an uncooked center.
Remove the basket, transfer to a plate, let it cool slightly, and enjoy.
