The film "Total Recall" is one of those films that left a noticeable mark in world cinema.

The story originates from a novella by Philip K. Dick's "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" (in Ukrainian, for some reason simply "Memories in bulk"), written in 1966. He is the author of the idea that later inspired Hollywood for several screen adaptations.
Director Paul Verhoeven directed the film, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The picture combined brutal action, cyberpunk atmosphere and deep philosophy about identity and memory. It was this film that became a cult, and many consider it a real classic of the 90s.
Personally, I saw this tape on TV in the 2000s and I really remembered the footage where Schwartz's eyes pop out. Well, a woman with 3 breasts.

That's how they censored (zum /pruning):
But for some reason, it seemed to me that this frame was not cut on TV. Maybe the brain itself has fantasized, who knows. But in my opinion, it would be better to censor this:

Remake (2012)
Two decades later, a new version of "Remember Everything" was released, starring Colin Farrell.

The tape received modern special effects, a different visual style and interpreted the original story somewhat differently. However, for many fans, it turned out to be colder, less "soulful". That is why many viewers (like me 😉) prefer the first film with its charisma and unique spirit of the 90s.
The 2012 film has too many special effects and not enough, as they say now - "wibu". The '90 film has a cool color scheme that compensates for Schwartz's slightly cringe acting.

In conclusion, "Remember Everything" is not just a fantasy with fights and special effects, but a story about finding ourselves, which has itself become part of our collective memory.
The 1990 version retained the charisma and spirit of its time, and the 2012 remake remained rather a technical variation without that emotional depth. And here comes a paradox: a film about illusions and real memories has itself turned into a memory that we choose to keep - even if it is a little naive and "cringe". Both films were watched on Kyivstar TV.
