The cat decided that the button on the charging station is the perfect target for its curious paws. If it had turned off the station at night, it would have been a very 'interesting' morning. The boiler and pumps run on electricity.
I accidentally saw my cat, focused on its mission, pressing the button - and the light on the charging station went out. Cats are basically my new home Murphy's law.
For those who don’t know, a charging station is something like a powerful home power bank that powers critical systems in the house, such as lights, the boiler, and circulation pumps. Without them, heating becomes simply impossible. Imagine that it’s cold in your house, you’re without heat, and it’s freezing outside. One press of a button - and the whole system stops, and you find yourself in a stressful situation. Of course - restart it and everything will be fine. But what if it happens at night and something freezes in the severe frost?
Murphy's Law in Action: Cats, Buttons, and the Magic of Coincidences
My situation perfectly illustrates the informal formulation of "cat Murphy": if a button exists - it will be pressed. This is not just a theory, but a reality for many cat owners. Cats, as we know, are very curious creatures - they are drawn to anything that can click or glow. And here I realized that the button should be considered not a private function, but a true public interface that any cat can paw at. So, I need to make some kind of cover (there's a 3D printer at home).
Cats Turn Off Computers More Often Than We Think
While searching for a solution (a ready 3D model), I came across many ready-made models of "PC power button cover" - these are special caps that protect computer power buttons.

It turns out this is quite a common problem, as cats really love to press big buttons (whether intentionally or not, they won’t tell us).
Fits. We print it. Stick it on with double-sided tape.
The Finale (or Not?) of the Story: Murphy Lost, but the Cat Doesn’t Acknowledge Defeat
As if the button is covered and everything is fine. But one morning the cover was lifted... As they say: To be continued.
