Guacamole is a classic Mexican dish that has won the hearts of gourmets around the world. Technically, it is a sauce made from mashed avocado with the addition of lime juice and salt. However, guacamole does not end with these ingredients: to enhance the flavor, tomatoes, red (purple) onion, garlic, and spices (fresh cilantro, salt, chili pepper, etc.) are added.
This dish originated in ancient times in Mexico and has deep roots in Aztec culture. The very word "guacamole" comes from the Aztec word "ahuacamolli," which can be translated as "avocado sauce." This dish became popular among Mexicans and Native Americans even before the arrival of Europeans in America. Later, guacamole became known worldwide, thanks to its simplicity and unique taste.
Classic Recipe
The βclassicβ guacamole recipe includes the following ingredients:
avocado
tomato
onion
lime or lemon juice
garlic
fresh cilantro (coriander)
salt and pepper to taste.
Personal Improvisation
We did not find a single correct βclassicβ recipe, so we decided to balance according to our own preferences and the list of products we had. At the time of cooking, we had:
avocado (it should be soft, i.e., perfectly ripe: this is the main secret of the sauce's flavor)
purple onion
tomato
granulated garlic
dry chili powder
lime
salt and pepper.
First, we very finely chopped the onion and diced the tomatoes. We decided to sprinkle the juice from one half of the lime on the onion to slightly reduce its sharpness.

Next, we cut the avocado in half, removed the pit, scooped out the soft part, and mashed it with a fork until it became a puree. We then added the juice from the second half of the lime to this mixture.
After that, we mixed all the ingredients, added a pinch of salt, dry garlic powder, black pepper, and a knife tip of dry chili (it is just nuclear hot, no exaggeration). We mixed it all together.

We did not have fresh garlic, jalapeΓ±o pepper, or cilantro, and we did not add oil (avocado itself is a fat-rich product). Therefore, our guacamole cannot claim to be classic. This is our own experience, all according to the canons of TSEIVO ;)
Since we prepared guacamole for breakfast, we used it as a dip for Borodinsky bread, which we slightly toasted in the toaster. On the second slice of bread, also previously toasted, we placed a slice of melted toast cheese and a fried egg with a runny yolk.

Subjectively, it turned out quite tasty, healthy, and nutritious.
